Cancellation policy

We make it easy for you to cancel your account directly in the app — no phone calls required, no questions asked.

How to cancel your account

Account owners can cancel their Torru subscription at any time by:

  1. Logging into your Torru account
  2. Navigating to Account Settings or Billing
  3. Selecting Cancel Subscription
  4. Following the prompts to confirm cancellation

You can continue using your account until your current billing period expires, or you can close it immediately if you prefer.

Who can cancel an account?

Our legal responsibility is to account owners, which means we can only cancel an account at the request of the account owner. If you no longer know who the account owner is or need to change ownership, please contact us. We will gladly reach out to the current account owner at the email address we have on file.

What happens when you cancel?

When you cancel your Torru account:

  1. Immediate effect: Your subscription will be marked for cancellation
  2. Access during paid period: You can continue using your account until the end of your current billing period
  3. End of billing period: Your account will become inactive and you'll lose access to your data
  4. Data retention: We'll keep your account data for 30 days in case you change your mind
  5. Final deletion: After 30 days, we'll permanently delete all your data from our servers and backups (within 60 days from backups)

Important: Make sure you download any voice recordings, transcripts, call logs, or other data you want to keep before your account becomes inactive. Once your data is permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered.

Billing after cancellation

We won't bill you again once you cancel your subscription. We don't automatically prorate any unused time you may have left, but if you haven't used your account in months or just started a new billing cycle, contact us for a fair refund. We'll treat you right.

Torru-initiated cancellations

We may cancel accounts if they have been inactive for an extended period:

  • Trial accounts: 30 days after a trial has expired without being upgraded to a paid plan
  • Failed payment accounts: 90 days after being suspended due to billing failures with no successful payment
  • Free tier accounts (if applicable): After 180 days of complete inactivity

We also retain the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any reason at any time, as outlined in our Terms of Service. In practice, this generally means we will cancel your account without prior notice if we have evidence that you are using our service to engage in prohibited activities.

Your right to cancel under UK law

Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, if you're a consumer (not purchasing for business use), you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of signing up without giving any reason. To exercise this right, please email [email protected]. We will process your cancellation and provide a full refund within 14 days.
